Hourglass History 2010

​

Hourglass Lodge #1 was granted its charter by The Most Worshipful Abraham Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, Jurisdiction of Texas Inc. on the 20th day of November 2010 by the Most Worshipful Grand Master Weston Jarvis.

The elected officers for Hourglass Lodge #1 were Ron Foster, Worshipful Master, Ron Johnson, Senior Warden, John McGowen, Junior Warden, Malcom King, Treasurer, and Fred Norman Secretary. The appointed officers were Caddy Lewis, Tiler, Harvey Jackson, Senior Deacon and Jason Robinson, Junior Deacon.

All though there was a split of within the years to come Hourglass Lodge #1 still stood strong.

Hourglass History 2012

 

In 2012 Hourglass begin to rebuild. The elected officers were Ron Foster, Worshipful Master, Jason Robinson, Senior Warden and Robert Thomas Jr., was the Junior Warden, By June of 2012 Hourglass had 2 new Master Masons. One of the new brothers was Bro. Donovan Monroe (“D”) who had one of the strongest hearts and desire for knowledge and the other brother was his CT, Bro. Bryan K. Johnson.

Hourglass History 2013

 

During the elections of 2013 the elected officers were Bro. Jason Robinson, Worshipful Master, Bro. Robert Thomas Jr., Sr. Warden, Bro. Michael Briscoe (Can’t Get Right), Junior Warden, Bro. Donovan Monroe, Secretary, and Bro. Bryan K. Johnson, Treasure. On December 26, 2012 Michael Briscoe was lost to the Hourglass in a very fatal accident and laid to rest in January 2013 in his hometown in Louisiana. RIH dear brother. This really caused Hourglass to grow closer as a family and lean on each other during their time of hurt and pain. On March 13, 2013, Hourglass lost Bro. Donovan Monroe. A brother that showed dedication, heart, love and fortitude for the craft was lost after dealing with the battle of a heart condition. This event caused the last four brothers of Hourglass to grow even stronger together. PGME Weston Jarvis begin to call these four brothers the Four Horsemen because of all the hurt they had went through they never stopped growing with each other. Even after all the adversity that Hourglass Lodge #1 had to face they began to grow in number, and in strength, holding on to the values of Family First. By the end of 2013 Hourglass had grown to seven brothers, when the following three brothers were raised: Bro. Eric Moshay, Bro. Kenny Logan and Bro. Ervin Jefferson.

Hourglass History 2014

During the elections of October 2013 the following officers were elected: Bro. Jason Robinson, Worshipful Master, Bro. Robert Thomas Jr. Senior Warden, Bro. Bryan K. Johnson, Junior Warden, Bro. Eric Moshay, Secretary, and Bro. Kenny Logan, Treasurer. Bro. Ervin Jefferson was appointed to the position of Senior Deacon. We had 3 other Master Masons come to raised in this year. Bro. Joe Manning, Bro. Norman Hicks, and Bro. Steven Hartfield. Hourglass Lodge continue to grow, not because of the quantity of brothers, but because of the quality of the brothers that were building. PM Ron Foster left at the beginning of 2015 and became Grand Master of Urijah Grand Lodge.

Hourglass History 2015

 

During the elections of October 2014 the following officers were elected: Bro. Robert Thomas Jr. Worshipful Master, Bro. Bryan K. Johnson Senior Warden, Bro. Eric Moshay, Junior Warden, Bro. Norman Hicks, Secretary, and Bro. Joe Manning, Treasurer. Bro. Ervin Jefferson was appointed as the Senior Deacon and Bro. Steven Hartfield was appointed as the Junior Deacon of the lodge. And against all odds Hourglass still strived to be great in the jurisdiction of AGL. At the end of 2015 Hourglass Lodge #1 had 9 active Master Masons on their role with the addition of Bro. Paul Davis. We also initiated four new EA’s at the end of 2015 that showed great character. Bro. Toro Thomas, Bro. Josh Thomas, Bro. Alphonso Morris and Bro.

Hourglass History 2016

 

During the elections of October 2015 the following officers were elected: Bro. Robert Thomas Jr., Worshipful Master of the Lodge, Bro. Bryan K. Johnson, Sr. Warden, Bro. Paul Davis, Junior Warden, Bro. Norman Hicks, Secretary, and Bro. Joe Manning, Treasurer. Bro. Ervin Jefferson was appointed as the Senior Deacon and Bro. Steven Hartfield was appointed as the Junior Deacon of the lodge. Still having 3 EA’s as we entered into the 2015 year we passed the three EA’s to FC’s and embraced 2 more EA’s in the likes of Bro. Gilbert Munoz and Bro. Wendall Fobbs, who were also passed to FC with the other 3 EA’s that we had. At this time, we initiated five we had two affiliates that came to us Bro. Joseph Zore, and Bro. Chris Hines. We begin to grow even more in 2016 were with the initiation, passing, and raising of a total of 9 brothers under the leadership of WM Robert L. Thomas Jr. The 9 brothers that were raised were raised in a joint raising ceremony with Caleb Lodge #3 which has so far been one of the best raisings of the Lodge. The brothers raised to Master Mason are as follows:

This growth has brought Hourglass Lodge #1 to a total of 20 active brothers of which one is a FC Bro. Issac Beasley. We were also petitioned by the Grand Master of Abraham Grand Lodge PM Rickey Fillmore for membership. We voted and excepted him as a member of Hourglass Lodge #1 which brings our total count to 21 active brothers in Hourglass Lodge #1.

During the election of October 2016, Bro. Joe Manning and Bro. Norman Hicks were passed out of their positions and became Honorary Past Masters and the following brothers were nominated and elected as Hourglass Lodge #1 2017 officers. Bro. Bryan K. Johnson, Worshipful Master, Bro. Paul Davis, Senior Warden, Bro. Steven Hartfield, Junior Warden, Bro. Gilbert Munoz, Secretary, and Bro. Ervin Jefferson, Treasurer. The appointed officers for the year of 2017 are Bro. Joshua Thomas, Senior Deacon, Bro. Demon Little, Junior Deacon, Bro. Wendall Fobbs, Senior Stewart, Bro. Cornell Rosemond, Junior Stewart, Bro. Chris Hines, Tyler, Bro. Namon Thomas, Chaplin, Bro. Toro Thomas, Marshal and PM Bro. Robert L. Thomas Jr. Lecturer.

Election 2017 was conducted on October 14, 2017 @ 10333 Harwin Dr. at the H. B. Turner Grand Lodge for the officers for the 2018 year. The following brothers were elected: Bro. Bryan K. Johnson, Worshipful Master, Bro. Gilbert Munoz, Senior Warden, Bro. Steven Hartfield, Junior Warden, Bro. Paul Davis, Secretary, and Bro. Ervin Jefferson, Treasurer. The appointed officers are Bro. Demon Little, Sr. Deacon, Bro. Wendall Fobbs, Jr. Deacon, Bro. Toro Thomas, Senior Stewart, Bro. Namon Thomas, Jr. Stewart.

Growth of the Lodge

PM Robert Thomas and PM Joe Manning officially left Hourglass Lodge November 11, 2017 to restart Abram Lodge #7, which showed more growth of Hourglass Lodge #1.

Bro. Ervin Jefferson stepped down from the position as Treasurer on the 1st of December 2017 and WM Johnson decided to hold a special election at their first meeting to fill the position on the 28th of January 2018. The following brother was elected as Treasurer to fill the vacancy for the 2018 and 2019 year. After the election WM Johnson changed the appointments for the Lodge as follows: are Bro.  Sr. Deacon, Bro. Wendall Fobbs, Jr. Deacon, Bro. Namon Thomas, Senior Stewart, Bro. Takary Royal, Jr. Stewart.

Hourglass History 2019

​

The year of 2019 Hourglass through the years have had their up and downs but through it all they still march in solidarity towards a common purpose. The elections for the year of 2019 placed new brothers in Leadership as the older leadership stepped down as he nominated all officers for their current positions. Elections were held by Grand Secretary Remund Washington and the following officers were elected unanimously: 

Brother Gilbert Munoz was elected as Worshipful Master and became the first Hispanic Worshipful Master in the history of Hourglass Lodge #1 as well as M W Abraham Grand Lodge of Texas. Bro. Steven Hartfield was elected to the position of Senior Warden, Bro. De’mon Little was elected to the position of JW, Bro. Paul Davis was elected to the position of Treasurer, and Bro. Percy Jones was elected to the position of Secretary. Currently Hourglass has the following brothers listed on their roll for the 2020 year:
